About Cal Poly Dressage Team

Our team consists of both a show team and a general team. Both run very similarly and are wonderful ways for riders of all levels to learn about the sport of dressage! More information about each team is below.

The show team is a part of Region U of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association against UC Davis, Stanford University, UC Santa Barbara, and Oregon State University dressage teams. Our show team has received the regional champion title several times in the past. In our most recent show season ('23-'24), our show team qualified yet again. We were able to travel to North Carolina in April of 2024 for Nationals as our region's team qualifier and 3 of our riders were individual qualifiers as well. Our show team was stoked to be able to show at Tryon International Equestrian Center for the first time! More information about our show team is under the show team section.

Our general team welcomes people from all level! If you find showing intimidating, want to hone in on your skills, or want to learn the basics of dressage, the general team is your place! Every practice is meant to support your riding journey and development of your riding. Even our most advanced people on the general team are able to learn something!

Even though our two teams have different goals in mind, we support each other's growth not only as riders, but as people. Our weekly team meetings are not limited to formalities and announcements. Towards the end of every quarter, the meetings become a time and a place for team bonding and the occasional study session.
